Rules of the game

How is Eurojackpot played?

A line consists of 5 numbers from 1 to 50 and 2 Euro numbers from 1 to 12. The draw takes place every Tuesday and Friday at around 8 pm (Paris/Berlin time) in Helsinki. You win from 2 numbers + 1 Euro number.

How much does a line cost?

€2.00 per line, plus a processing fee per slip set by the operator (in Germany, usually between €0.20 and €0.60 per slip or draw day).

What is the cut-off time for playing?

The cut-off for entries on draw day varies by country, state (Land) and sales channel (in Germany, roughly between 6 pm and 7.30 pm). Only your operator's time is authoritative.

What is the minimum age?

18 in Germany and in most participating countries. Minors cannot play or collect a prize.

What is a Quick Pick (Quick-Tipp)?

The numbers are drawn at random instead of being ticked. The odds are exactly the same. Our generator does the same thing in your browser and can also apply rules such as “2 even, 3 odd”.

Can you play several draws in advance?

Yes: depending on the duration chosen for the slip (for example 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 8 weeks depending on the operator), the same numbers take part in every draw in the period.

Which countries play Eurojackpot?

Eurojackpot brings together the lotteries of nearly 20 European countries, including Germany, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Poland. All play for the same jackpot. France does not take part (it offers EuroMillions).

Since when has there been a Tuesday draw and 12 Euro numbers?

Since the reform of 25.03.2022: the Euro numbers are drawn from 12 (10 previously) and the first Tuesday draw took place on 29.03.2022. Our Euro number statistics therefore start on that date.

Winning

What are the odds of winning?

The chance of hitting the jackpot (5 numbers + 2 Euro numbers) is 1 in 139,838,160. The chance of winning something (from 2 numbers + 1 Euro number) is about 1 in 32. All prize tiers with their exact probabilities are shown on the Prizes page.

Minimum and maximum jackpot?

The jackpot starts at €10 million and grows as long as nobody wins the top tier. The cap is €120 million. Once it is reached, the excess goes to the second tier; if the jackpot stays capped for several draws, it is paid out to the next tier down that has winners.

Why do prizes vary from one draw to the next?

Eurojackpot is a parimutuel lottery: each tier receives a fixed share of total stakes, divided by the number of winners in that tier. More stakes or fewer winners mean higher prizes. The probability, however, never changes.

Are winnings taxed?

In Germany, lottery winnings are tax-free; only the income they later generate (interest, etc.) is taxable. Each participating country applies its own rules.

How long do you have to claim a prize?

The deadline is set by the operator; in Germany, 13 weeks after the draw is usual for paper slips. Online, winnings are generally credited automatically.

Can you remain anonymous?

In Germany, yes: lotteries do not publish names. Large wins are announced only with the region and the amount.

Can several people share a jackpot?

Yes. If several lines have 5 numbers + 2 Euro numbers, the jackpot is divided equally. Syndicates then share their portion among themselves.

I received an email announcing a win. Is it genuine?

Almost certainly not. No reputable lottery sends unsolicited notices of winnings or asks for fees in advance. Do not reply and do not give out any personal data.

This site

Where do the numbers and prizes come from?

From the official results files of WestLotto (the North Rhine-Westphalia lottery). The data is retrieved automatically on draw evenings, then the site is regenerated. The database contains 993 draws from 23.03.2012 to 09.10.2026.

When do new numbers appear?

The numbers are usually available before 9.45 pm, and the prizes the same evening or the next day. A further update takes place the next morning.

Can you play here?

No. Lottiro does not sell lines and does not act as an intermediary. Play only with licensed operators in your country.

Do statistics help you win?

No. Each draw is independent of the previous ones and every combination is equally likely. Frequencies, overdue numbers and patterns only describe the past; the Analyses page shows that all observed values remain within the limits of pure chance.

Is the information official?

No, it is provided without guarantee. Only the lotteries' official numbers and payouts are authoritative.
